Our motto is “Celebrating life together.” We believe relationships are the essence of life, and that life is best enjoyed in authentic community.

Brian & Mercy Alarid
Brian and Mercy Alarid are the Founders and Lead Pastors of Passion Church. They have been married for thirteen years and reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico with their three children: Chloe, Colin, and Lauren Nicole.
Pastor Brian Alarid
Brian was born in southern California and spent much of his childhood in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, where his parents served as missionaries. While on the mission field, he became fluent in Spanish and developed a passion for missions.
Brian gave his life to Christ at the age of four while in Guatemala. He was water baptized and received his call to ministry at the age of twelve while in Costa Rica, went to Bible school at the age of seventeen, and has been in full-time pastoral ministry since 1993. Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.
In addition to serving in full-time pastoral ministry for the past 17 years, Brian has served in many ministry and executive positions, including Director of Publications, Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Dean, and Executive Secretary. Brian is the Founder, President, and Lead Pastor of Passion Church. Brian is also a part-time instructor at the University of New Mexico.
Brian’s first love is leadership development, but his other passions include preaching God’s Word, helping unbelievers connect with God, discipleship, missions, and networking. Brian has preached to thousands of people and trained thousands of leaders in many nations, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Honduras, India, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, and Switzerland.
Brian has been married to Mercy for fourteen years and together they have three beautiful children: Chloe, Colin, and Lauren Nicole. Brian’s interests include reading, drinking coffee at Starbucks, writing, traveling, playing basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.

Pastor Mercy Alarid
Mercy was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She gave her life to Christ at the age of 4 when she witnessed her sister get healed of a severe and incurable eye condition. She graduated from high school and studied Architecture for three years at the national university.
Sensing a strong call of God on her life to full-time pastoral ministry, Mercy left her home, family, career, and country and moved to the United States in 1995 to study theology. She met Brian, the love of her life, at Bible college and married him 2 years later in 1997.
Mercy has a Master’s degree in Education from Regent University, and is in the process of completing her Doctorate degree in Education. Mercy is a member of the Central New Mexico Community College faculty in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she is an instructor in the Education department.
Mercy is a woman of many talents. She is an artist, painter, poet, author, graphics designer, college instructor, Spanish translator and interpreter, professional public speaker, educational consultant, and preacher. She is the Creative Arts Pastor and Children’s Pastor at Passion Church.

Pastor Bruno Interlandi, Vice-President
Passion Church is not only a local church, it is an international movement with strategic partnerships all around the world. This is reflected in the leadership of Passion. Pastor Bruno Interlandi is the International Vice-President of Passion Church.
Pastor Bruno has a Doctorate degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Born in Italy, raised in South America, and educated in Europe and America, Bruno is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish. He has worked in high-level executive positions for companies like Proctor & Gamble and Ark Sciences.
Bruno is an international apostle, teacher, church planter, entrepreneur, and consultant. He has over 25 years of experience in the business world and in pastoral ministry. Bruno and his wife Natalia and three children currently reside in Mar de Plata, Argentina.
History
With a church plant team consisting of seven adults and three children, Passion launched its first service on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at a home in the northeast Albuquerque. Amazingly, sixty-eight people attended the first service and ten people made decisions for Christ.
Later that evening, Pastor Brian and Mercy went to Presbyterian Hospital where Mercy gave birth to their second child, Colin. Their son was born deaf in one ear, but God miraculously healed him five weeks later—a sign to the Alarid’s that Passion would be a supernatural church.
Passion Church moved from the Kimbrell residence to Cottonwood Mall Theater in August 2006. Passion moved to its current location – Cibola High School – in December 2008. The main sanctuary is the 600-seat Performing Arts Center.
God has done so many extraordinary things at Passion Church the past 4 years. Over 1,000 people have committed their lives to Christ, marriages have been healed, families have been restored, many people who were sick have been supernaturally healed, new believers have been discipled, people have grown in their spiritual gifts, leaders have been developed and released into ministry, and the poor have been served both locally and internationally.
In August 2010 Passion Church began its Television ministry called PassionTV and launched Passion Leadership College. A whole new day is dawning for Passion Church. The best is yet to come! We hope you will come join us for the ride of a lifetime.
Vision (who we are)
Our vision is to be an authentic biblical community that celebrates life together.
Our vision is based on the model of the New Testament Church, as portrayed in Acts 2:42-47:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Our mission is to make fully devoted disciples of Christ.
Our mission comes from words of Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20, known as the Great Commission:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)Values (our heart)
The Core is the central, innermost, most essential part of anything. Virtually everything has a core—the earth, the sun, buildings, and even apples.
The core of an apple contains the seeds and the DNA of the apple. The core is what gives an apple its identity, structure, taste, density, and color. The core is what tells an apple to become a Granny Smith apple or a Red Delicious apple or a Gala apple.
Core Values are to a church or organization what an apple core is to an apple. They define what kind of church we are going to become.
Our Core Values are the heart of Passion Church. These are the core values that define our culture and shape our movement:

Dream (where we are going)
I want to share with you the church that Mercy and I dream about.
We dream of a church where the Word of God is preached with power, conviction, and authority. We dream of a church so full of God’s supernatural power that miracles are an every-day occurrence. We dream of a church so contagious with God’s love that the world has to stop and take notice. We dream of a church so passionate in our worship for God that His glory fills the earth. We dream of a bilingual church with services for Spanish-speaking people. We dream of a church that is fearless and relentless in seeking and saving the lost. We dream of a church where radical devotion to Christ is the norm and not the exception. We dream of a church where servant-leaders are equipped and released to change the world. We dream of a church where marriages are restored and families are healed. We dream of a church where people take off their masks and celebrate life together in authentic community. We dream of a church where the dead are raised, the sick are healed, and the oppressed are set free. We dream of a church that serves the poor, feeds the hungry, and speaks for those who have no voice. We dream of a church without limitations that infiltrates every aspect of society. We dream of a church where every race is welcomed and embraced, where the rich and poor sit together. We dream of a church so devoted to prayer and fasting that the powers of darkness tremble before it. We dream of a global church that makes God’s name famous in the earth. We dream of a multiplying church that plants thousands of life-giving churches around the world. We dream of a church with campuses all over New Mexico. Beliefs
Passion is an evangelical church that upholds all of the core doctrines of the evangelical movement. We believe the Bible is the foundation and source of all truth, our moral compass, and the final authority on all matters of ethics and doctrine.
We are also a Spirit-filled church that views Scripture through the lense of renewal theology. We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to believers today to strengthen and build up the church.
Our Statement of Faith below summarizes our essential, non-negotiable doctrines. With regard to all other doctrines, we adopt the approach of Saint Augustine, who said, “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity.”
We believe the goal of all right doctrine is to help us grow in love for God and love for people (Matthew 22:37-40). We love the body of Christ and it is not necessary for us to agree on doctrine in order to love and support other Christian churches and Christ-followers.
BIBLE | We believe the Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God, and the only foundation for life.
GOD | We believe in one God who exists in three distinct, equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS | We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to heaven.
HOLY SPIRIT | We believe the Holy Spirit resides in the heart of all who put their faith in Christ. We believe that all believers should be filled with the Holy Spirit and utilize the spiritual gifts He has given them.
CREATION | We believe in the Biblical account of creation. God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, including mankind.
SALVATION | We believe that we are saved by grace (God’s unmerited favor). Salvation cannot be earned through good works. It is God’s free gift to those who repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ.
WATER BAPTISM | We believe that all believers should be water baptized as a public confession of their faith in Jesus Christ.
ETERNAL LIFE | We believe that Jesus came to earth and died so that we can live an “abundant life” here on earth and enjoy eternal life in heaven after we die. God wants you to experience “heaven on earth.” He wants to give you the kind of life you’ve always dreamed about.
SECOND COMING | We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth to judge the wicked, and to gather and reward His followers.
MARRIAGE | We believe in and uphold the biblical definition of marriage as an exclusive, conjugal union between one man and one woman. Heterosexual marriage was ordained by God at creation and is the basic institution of society. We only perform and bless marriages that meet this biblical criteria.
