Become a Christ-follower
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ died on a cross for the salvation of the entire world (1 Timothy 2:4). God does not want anyone to perish and go to hell; He wants everyone to be saved and spend eternity in heaven with Him (2 Peter 3:9).
Salvation is God’s free gift to you. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (NIV) You can’t be good enough to deserve it or too bad to be denied it. It is by faith in Jesus’ blood that He shed on the cross that you are saved.
However, the Bible tells us there are 3 things we have to do in order to take advantage of God’s free gift of salvation:
The first step is to BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead three days later.
The Bible says, “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
The second step is to CONFESS your sins to Jesus Christ.
God can’t forgive what you won’t confess. Unconfessed sin is unforgiven sin. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Your sins have already been paid for, so what are you waiting for? Confess your sins to God today. He won’t reject you. God already knows everything you have ever done; He’s just waiting for you to be honest with Him.
The third step is to REPENT of our sins.
The Bible says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
What does it mean to ‘repent’? Repentance literally means “to change the way you think.” It refers to a person doing a 180-degree turn.
Repentance means you turn from your sinful lifestyle and turn to God. It’s not enough to believe in God and confess your sins. You must also repent in order to be saved and forgiven of your sins.
Repentance doesn’t mean you momentarily feel bad about sinning or are sad you got caught. Repentance means you genuinely want to change your behavior and that you are going to take steps to stop doing the wrong things and start doing the right things.
Say this prayer out loud or to yourself right now wherever you are at:
“Dear Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and the only way to heaven. I believe that you came from heaven to earth to die on a cross for my sins, but three days later you rose from the dead. Today, I confess my sins to you. I repent of my sinful lifestyle and I surrender my life completely to you. In Jesus’ name I pray.”
If you believe in Jesus, confess your sins, and repent of your sins today, you have been born-again into the family of God. All of your sins and past life are forgiven and forgotten. Jesus Christ now lives inside your heart. When you die you will spend eternity in heaven with God.

Grow in God
The most important decision you can ever make is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The second most important decision is to develop a habit of spending time with God every day getting to know Him personally. Jesus did not die on a cross just to save you from hell; He died to have a personal, intimate relationship with you.
Some people give up on that quest easily because they find the pursuit of God too complicated, when in reality it is the opposite! Getting to know God is as simple as getting to know a friend. In order to do that, you spend time with that friend, exchange phone calls, emails, and build memories together, right?
It’s that simple in our relationship with God. To get to know God, we must spend time with God every day in prayer, worship, and in studying the Bible, which is His love letter to us.
We encourage you to make it a lifelong goal to spend an hour a day with God - not out of religious duty but out of passion and love for God. We pray your love and hunger for God increases to the point where Jesus becomes your all-consuming passion.
We believe with all our heart that the most important thing you can do every day is to pray and read the Bible, reflect on it, and apply it to your life. James 1:22 says, "Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to [God's] word; instead, put it into practice."
Below you will find a daily Bible reading plan for 2014 that will help you read passages in the Old and New Testaments every day and read through the whole Bible in a year. It will only take you about 30 minutes a day.
Then we would encourage you to spend about another 30 minutes a day reflecting on what you read, applying it to your life, worshipping, praying, listening to God's voice, and journaling what He speaks to you.
What follows is a tool that will aid you in beginning your daily relationship with God. We hope it blesses you and encourages to keep pursuing God once you leave this place.

Tips for spending 1 hour a day with God:
You don’t have to do it all at once. You can spend some time with God in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
Choose a dedicated time. Make a date with God. Morning, afternoon, evening or night – whenever you can best meet with God.
Choose a place without distractions. This is important so you can focus on God and nothing else. Turn off your cell phone, the TV, and focus on God.
Prepare your heart to meet with God. Clear your mind of every wandering and distracting thoughts. Focus your mind and heart on God. Get quiet before God.
Thank God for everything He has done in your life. Thanksgiving is the key to get into God’s presence.
Spend time in worship. It might be helpful to put on some praise and worship music and sing along.
Spend time in prayer. Talk to God, pour out your heart to Him, confess His promises, and ask in faith for what you need. But also spend time listening as well. Prayer should be a dialogue, not a monologue.
Spend time in Bible study. Read it slowly, then reflect on it, and apply it to your life. Underline and memorize any verses that stand out to you. If you are short on time, listen to the Bible on audio CD in the car on the way to and from work.
Reflect on your spiritual condition and confess any known sin to God. God can’t forgive what you won’t confess.
Keep a Journal. Record things God speaks to you and does in your life.
Have an accountability partner to hold you accountable. Two are better than one. Having someone support you and help you grow in your relationship with God will make all the difference.
Repeat this process of spiritual growth every day for the rest of your life and you will fall more and more in love with Jesus and become more and more like Him.
Prayer & Worship: 30 minutes a day
Start with about 10 minutes of worship. Put a worship CD (Hillsong, Hillsong United, Desperation Band, Delirious?, Chris Tomlin, etc all have good worship CD’s). Start with about 10 minutes of worship – sing along and celebrate God. Begin to thank Him for all the good things. Praise is powerful.
Then spend 10 minutes in prayer. Pray over your life, your family, your health, your finances, any business meetings you have coming up that day or week, pray for favor, for wisdom, for success, for purity, for integrity, etc. Confess any sins or mistakes you have made. Make everything right between you and God that you are aware of. Pray in the Spirit as often as you can.
Finish with about 10 minutes of meditation - waiting and listening to God speak. Prayer is supposed to be a dialogue, not a monologue. Quiet your spirit and spend about 10 minutes just being quiet and asking God to speak to you. Discipline yourself to be quiet and slow your mind and spirit down and listen for God’s voice. Meditation is a hard discipline but powerful. When you are finished, journal anything God speaks to you
Bible Study & Reflection: 30 minutes a day
Read 1 Proverb a day. Read 1 Proverb a day. Every day read 1 Proverb which corresponds to the day of the month. On the first day of the next month, start over by reading Proverbs 1. You will read through the book of Proverbs every month.
Read 4 to 5 chapters a day in the Old or New Testament. Use the Life Journal Daily Reading Plan (below).
How to read: Read each chapter 2 times through. Read it the first time just to get the story. Second read it and start to take notes and underline things that stand out to you. Buy a notebook and keep a journal – reflect on what God is speaking to you, insights He gives you, things that convict you, things that excite you, and promises He gives you from His word.
Right down your prayer requests or promises or words from God. Reflect about how you can improve. Confess sin that God convicts you of. Confess promises God gives you from Scripture. Apply the word to your daily life right here and right now.

Tips for having Family Devotions:
Start out with worship – one-three songs (on iPod, CD, DVD or a cappella)
Have everyone share a praise report – something they are thankful for
Have everyone share a prayer request – then take turns praying for those requests
Read the Bible together – then discuss it and apply it. Read a Kid’s Bible if you have young children.
Close in prayer. Have everyone in your family pray out loud.
